Srinagar, May 09 (KNO): Department of Minimal Access and General Surgery at Government Medical College Srinagar hosted the maiden Luminal Malignancy Day, which was held in collaboration with the Department of Radiation and Medical Oncology. This landmark event showcased the institution's commitment to advancing treatment options and raising awareness for gastrointestinal cancers, a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reads. Under the adept leadership of Professor Iqbal Saleem Mir, Head of the Department of Surgery, the day was marked by a series of surgeries employing cutting-edge laparoscopic techniques. These surgeries targeted various gastrointestinal malignancies, illustrating the faculty's proficiency and dedication to providing patients with minimally invasive yet highly effective treatment options. The Luminal Malignancy Day served as a platform for interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together experts from surgery, radiation oncology, and medical oncology ably supported by PG deptt of anaesthesia.
